About the Author

Subramanian Bharati (11 December, 1882-11 September, 1921) was an Indian writer, poet, Journalist, Indian independence activist and a social reformer, popularly known as Mahakavi Bharathiyar; he is a pioneer of modern Tamil poetry. Bharati is considered to be one of the greatest Tamil poet's of the modern era. Most of his works were on religious, political and social themes.
