  About the Author  Subramanian Bharati (11 December, 1882-11 September, 1921) was an Indian writer, poet, Journalist, Indian independence activist and a social reformer, popularly known as Mahakavi Bharathiyar; he is a pioneer of modern Tamil poetry. Bharati is considered to be one of the greatest Tamil poet's of the modern era. Most of his works were on religious, political and social themes. 

  About the Author Deborah Cowley was born in India, grew up in Toronto, Canada graduated in English from the University of Western Ontario and moved Ottawa for a job. She has travelled the world while writing more than 100 articles for different editions of the reader's Digest. She authored 'Cairo': A practical guide, now in its 17th edition of Lucille Taesdale: Doctor of courage, shortlisted for the Ottawa book Award. October 2013 saw the publications of Deborah Cowley's new book 'The library tree': How a Canadian women Brought the joy of reading to a Generation of American Children.
